Diwali is a festive season which surely most of you have special plans for. For me Diwali has a special place in my heart. No matter where we are and what we do , coming home for Diwali and celebrating with Family and Friends is always the main focus of Diwali. In our day-to-day life there are many times that we miss looking at the smaller joys and feel detached from family and friends. But this Diwali I will be celebrating my Ghar Wali Diwali this year .
Inspired by Pepsi , Kurkure’s Ghar Wali Diwali theme this year I though of sharing my plans for This year. Here’s how you can know more about the Theme at https://www.gharwalidiwali.com/

This year My Family will celebrate Diwali like we usually do. In west Bengal the day before Diwali is celebrated as ‘Kaali Puja’ where Bengalis celebrate the killing of Narakasura , a demon by goddess Mahakaali. Special puja is done on this day before Diwali and Lights are lit. We lit diyas on our front yard and on the entrance of our home. It is believed that these diyas /earthen oil lamps help the spirits of our ancestors to find their path to heaven.
The Mahakali Puja is a puja performed in the night which usually is done post Midnight. We usually lit up our homes with Earthen oil lamps called Diyas and we use T lights and candles to light up our home too. Me and my sister buy lots of Firecrackers and though I usually don’t burst many crackers due to my problem of tolerating smoke for a long time I surely enjoy watching all the kids and elders in our locality bursting crackers.
Another main part of Diwali celebrations for us is the Grand feast at home, usually Me and My mother cook some mouth-watering dishes like Pulav and Chicken Kosha(Chicken Preparation ) as well as some tasty sweet dishes like Payesh (Rice Pudding) and many sweets. We exchange sweets with neighbours and loved ones and contact all those who are away.
This year we have made up our mind and have decided to make some Mutton preparations as my Family hardly consumes Red meat. I’m on a Diet this year but surely I won’t be able to control myself on that day. My sister loves the feast part on Diwali. I know most homes have Vegetarian dishes but My family always has Non-Vegetarian dishes on this day.
And this is my Sister last year Bursting Crackers
I hope all of you will have a very safe and prosperous Diwali this year and I wish all of my Readers a Safe and Happy Diwali. May goddess Laxmi bless all of you with Wealth.
