Hello,

Sometimes, when I go to a makeup counter, I feel all starry eyed  and a bit scared too. This is true, especially since you can term me as an obsessive online shopper. I get a tad bit intimidated when I go to a physical counter, because I get easily influenced. Everything looks good on me at the counter and when I get back home-Poof , nothing looks good! During the festive season, I was hunting for the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, but I was unable to guess the right shade. I finally decided to get it at a counter and I finally did. Today, I am reviewing the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+ Poreless Foundation -Sun Beige  310.

The Fit me range was one of the most anticipated range from Maybelline. I usually have a soft corner for two of my most used brands, Maybelline and Lakme. There’s one thing I hate most, and that’s the greasy feel of the foundations, and I was a bit skeptical at the counter too. Finally, I took the shade Sun Beige 310 which was mostly a match to my skin, expect that it’s a little bit yellowish than my original skin tone.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a black plastic screw on lid. The bottle is heavy and I fear it will fall and break. The foundation has to be poured onto your makeup brush/ sponge or on your hands before you use it. The texture is smooth and heavy, yet it blends in nicely. I used my Real Technique Foundation Brush to blend it into the skin and it went on quite well, I had to work a bit in order to make it streak-less.  It’s a medium to high coverage foundation and hides small spots easily.

The foundation did reduce the appearance of pores .  I had to top it with a setting powder to help the nose and T-zone stay Mattified for longer. On a humid day in September, it did feel a bit too heavy on my skin and I feel this would be better suited for the winter months for my oily to combination skin. I believe for me the best time for wearing this foundation is the October to February phase when the humidity is low and the heat is less.

The staying power is good and on the sweaty days in Kolkata, it did survive 6-7 hours on my combination oily skin. I had to reapply powder to keep my T-zone in control but otherwise, it did perform well.

After using the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+ Poreless Foundation -Sun Beige  310 back to back for three consecutive work days I found that the foundation caused my T-zone to become the easy target for pimples. After stopping usage, they disappeared. Recently I used it again on a Saturday night and next day saw another pimple. So, for me it’s a pimple magnet, I’m keeping this away until the weather is a bit cold.
